Newcastle vs Arsenal
Newcastle’s recent struggles continued with a 2-1 loss to Chelsea, marking their second consecutive Premier League defeat and fifth straight game without a win (D2, L3). This slump has left them 12th in the standings, with pressure steadily mounting on manager Eddie Howe.
However, the Magpies gained some revenge against the Blues in the Carabao Cup in midweek, recording their first clean sheet in six games with an impressive 2-0 win.
Next up is the visit of title challengers Arsenal, who will look to bounce back from last weekend's 2-2 draw against Liverpool. Mikel Arteta's side led twice but were pegged back on both occasions, leaving them five points behind leaders Manchester City.
Arteta has had to deal with injuries to several key players this season but will be boosted by the return of William Saliba from suspension.
Full-time prediction: Arsenal lost on this ground last season and have looked vulnerable on the road. Despite Newcastle’s shaky form, I still think they have enough to avoid defeat at home.
Bournemouth vs Manchester City
Bournemouth's tough run continues as they welcome the champions to the Vitality Stadium. This is their third consecutive game against a top-four team from last season, and they've avoided defeat so far, beating Arsenal 2-0 and earning a 1-1 draw at Aston Villa.
However, this is a completely different challenge, as the Cherries have never won against Manchester City in 20 league meetings (D2, L18) - the worst record in English Football history.
This season, City haven't been as dominant as they were last season, but they're still top of the table and remain unbeaten in their last 32 games (W26, D6). Their last four league wins came by a single goal margin, with three of those victories earned after coming from behind.
They’re still without newly-crowned Ballon d'Or winner, Rodri, but Guardiola's men should have more than enough to take all three points here.
Full time prediction: City are carrying a lot of injuries at the moment, but it is still hard to look past them. Their recent form suggests this will not be a big win though. Our bet builder and bet predection are City win and over 1.5 goals and Erling Haaland to score.

Liverpool vs Brighton
Despite Liverpool's impressive start to the season (W7, D1, L1), the 2-2 draw against Arsenal last weekend knocked them off top spot. However, there should be no panic, as they were below their best at the Emirates and still avoided defeat.
The Reds’ only loss this season came at home against Nottingham Forest, but Arne Slot's men have improved massively since then. They boast one of the league's best attacks (17 goals scored) and the stingiest defence, conceding just 5 goals in 9 games.
Next up is Brighton, a team that has shown they can hang with the best under new manager Fabian Hurzeler. Ahead of this game, Hurzeler emphasized the need for a fast start, something that appears to be the pattern as they have opened the scoring in their last 4 games (W1, D2, L1).
Brighton are sixth in the table but it feels like they should be two points better off after conceding in the 94th minute against Wolves.
Full-time prediction: Liverpool won 3-2 in Wednesday’s thrilling Carabao Cup tie, and this should be another high-scoring game. Brighton have conceded 12 goals already this season and may struggle to stop the Reds in front of the Anfield crowd. Our bet of the day is a Liverpool win.
Tottenham vs Aston Villa
Tottenham's inconsistent form continued as they followed a thrilling 4-1 win over West Ham with a shocking 1-0 defeat to relegation-threatened Crystal Palace. It was by far the most concerning result of the campaign for head coach Ange Postecoglou, who will be looking to bounce back in front of home support this weekend.
Spurs did get an immediate reaction midweek, beating Manchester City's second-string side 2-1 in the Carabao Cup, but the league is where it matters.
Aston Villa have ambitions of their own, but after an unbelievable start to the season (W6, D2, L1), Unai Emery's men seem to be running out of steam.
They have now gone three games without a win, and after Wednesday's Carabao Cup defeat to Crystal Palace (2-1), they will be itching to put things right and return to the level they're capable of.
Full time prediction: Spurs have scored 17 goals in 7 home games this season, and the last three meetings between both sides have landed ‘over 2.5 goals’. That sounds like the best bet prediction for this one.
Napoli vs Atalanta
You want a league title? Just hand Antonio Conte coach a team with no European distractions. He did it with Chelsea in 2017, and he's taken Napoli to a new level this season, even without Victor Osimhen.
The Serie A leaders have won their last five games, with four of those victories coming without conceding. Their latest triumph was a 2-0 win over AC Milan at the San Siro, moving them closer to matching their eight-game winning streak from 2023's title-winning campaign.
Next up, Conte's men face Ademola Lookman's Atalanta in a crucial test of their title credentials. While their home record in this fixture is decent at best (W3, D1, L4), Napoli's perfect home record this season (W5) should give them confidence.
Meanwhile, Atalanta have found their groove after a slow start to the season. They have won four straight league games with an impressive 15-2 aggregate scoreline. Last season's 3-0 win at Naples suggests they can repeat that success, but manager Gian Piero Gasperini's personal record against Antonio Conte is nothing to write home about (D2, L5).
Full Time Preduiction: Napoli are in excellent form, and Romelu Lukaku (8 G+A in 8 games) looks an excellent choice to lead the line for them already. Atalanta can try, but it's hard to see them stopping the leaders. Our bet prediciton for this one is a Napoli win.
Borussia Dortmund vs RB Leipzig
Borussia Dortmund's inconsistent form has them trailing leaders Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig by seven points after eight rounds of matches (W4, L3, D1). They have just one win in their last five games, and the 1-0 midweek defeat to Wolfsburg was their third straight defeat.
However, Dortmund has one major advantage: their impressive home form. Nuri Şahin's men have won four straight games at the Signal Iduna Park, scoring 3+ goals in three of those wins.
Up next, they welcome Leipzig, who are unbeaten in the Bundesliga this season (W6, D2) and have conceded just once in six games. Manager Marco Rose returns to his former stomping ground feeling confident, and rightfully so.
Jürgen Klopp's decision to join the Red Bull family might add fuel to this rivalry with Dortmund fans expected to make their feelings known from the first whistle.
Full Time Preduiction: Leipzig have won four of the last five H2H meeting. They're in better form, and we're backing them to extend their 10-game unbeaten streak on the road. There should be goals too, and Serhou Guirassy, who has 7 goals in his last 7 games for Dortmund is a smart bet prediction for anytime goal scorer.
Barcelona vs Espanyol
Barcelona come into this clash against local rivals Espanyol in blistering form. When you beat Bayern Munich 4-1 and Real Madrid 4-0 in the space of a week, everyone sits up and takes notice. Hansi Flick's men have now won five games in a row, each by at least a three-goal margin, and they have a six-point lead at the top of La Liga - a huge advantage at this early stage of the title race.
Their record at their temporary home, Estadi Olímpic, is also impeccable, having won their last ten league games. Meanwhile, Espanyol must know that they have their work cut out, as they haven't recorded a win in any of their last 26 games against Barça (W19, D7).
Espanyol find themselves at the wrong end of the table, starting this round just one point above the relegation zone. That's largely due to a run of five defeats across their last six league games (W1). Perhaps even more worryingly, Espanyol are yet to win on the road in this league campaign (D1, L4), which includes three defeats in a row.
Full time prediction: Barca are in incredible form, especially at home. Star striker Robert Lewandowski has 17 goals in just 14 games this season, with 11 coming at home. The smart bet here is a big win for the hosts.
Udinese vs Juventus
Udinese fell to a disappointing 3-2 defeat away to Venezia in midweek after taking a 2-0 lead and cruising for most of the early period. They have been inconsistent through the first 10 Serie A games (W4, L4, D2), but will be glad to return home to the Stadio Friuli, where they have won six of their last seven matches (L1).
Kosta Runjaić's men are actually just two points behind this weekend's opponents, Juventus, and could find themselves in the top four with a win here. That will not be easy, as Juventus are one of only two unbeaten teams in Europe's top five leagues, alongside Manchester City.
However, the Bianconeri are not as solid defensively as they were to start the campaign. After the injury to center-back Gleison Bremer, they've now conceded six goals in their last two outings, despite conceding just one in the opening eight.
They followed up a thrilling 4-4 draw against Inter last weekend with a 2-2 draw against Parma in midweek. Based on those two results, Udinese will fancy their chances of breaching Thiago Motta's defense.
Full-time prediction: Juve need to win to keep pace with leaders Napoli, but Udinese have been excellent at home this season. Both sides have been scoring freely lately, and we're backing goals here. Bet on over 2.5 goals for the best odds.
Manchester United vs Chelsea
Another week, another Manchester United storyline. We've heard it all - philosophy transition, etc. Well, Erik ten Hag has been fired after a listless start to the campaign, leading the once-great Red Devils to just four wins in 14 games.
The United board have swiftly agreed a deal with Sporting CP to appoint Ruben Amorim as the new coach, but he won't be available for this weekend's clash against Chelsea. Instead, Ruud van Nistelrooy will continue interim duties. He didn't do badly in the midweek Carabao Cup game, as United played with swagger in a 5-2 demolition of Leicester City.
Should United lose this game, they could end the gameweek in 16th place. They’ll hope it won’t come to that, however, as they’re unbeaten in their last 11 home games against Chelsea (W5, D6). That means that, despite United's poor form, this is a huge test for a Chelsea and Enzo Maresca.
The Blues entered the weekend within touching distance of the top four but suffered disappointment in midweek when they were dumped out of the EFL Cup by Newcastle (2-0). Maresca made nine changes for that defeat, so his first-team players should be fresh as they aim to return to winning ways.
Cole Palmer has seven goals this season, and United will remember his hat-trick the last time these two sides met. If anyone can create a goal out of nothing, he can.
Full-time prediction: United are surprisingly strong at home against Chelsea, even when they're in bad form. They looked much better against Leicester, and maybe the "new manager bounce" is a thing after all. For this one, the smart bet prediction is for both teams to score, as they have both shown defensive frailties all season.
