by Jolayemi Jones

20 Feb 2026

We’ve officially entered the decisive phase of the season, where the stakes couldn’t be higher for clubs and players alike. As always during this high-pressure stretch, the intensity is set to rise with every passing weekend, and this week’s football calendar is packed with high-stakes action.

In the Premier League, the title race takes center stage following Arsenal’s shocking collapse at Wolves midweek, giving Manchester City a golden chance to close the gap ahead of the North London Derby clash with Tottenham. Across Europe’s top five leagues, battles are raging for titles, European spots, and survival. La Liga and Ligue 1 have seen new league leaders: Barcelona have surrendered top spot to Real Madrid after defeat in Girona, while PSG surrendered theirs to Lens in France after defeat in Rennes. Things remain tight as ever in the relegation battles across all these leagues, while the Bundesliga features the tightest battle for European spots.

We have picked out the best games to explore for online sports betting enthusiasts who want to rake in profit watching their favourite leagues.

Here is everything you need to know, complete with expert betting tips and full-time predictions.

Man City vs Newcastle United

Erling Haaland - 1UP image

If you are looking for the most statistically lopsided fixture of the weekend, this is it. Manchester City's record against Newcastle at the Etihad is impeccable: they are unbeaten in their last 21 Premier League home games against the Magpies, winning each of the last 16 consecutively. For context, only Everton have had a longer winning home run against a single opponent in English top-flight history; 22 wins against Fulham between 1961 and 2018.

Newcastle's record at the Etihad is historically wretched. Their 20 games at that ground without a win represents the longest such run by any team at any venue in Premier League history, two draws and 18 defeats is a harrowing record that does nothing to inspire confidence. City have also won their last six Premier League home games against Newcastle without conceding.

The broader title picture adds an extra layer of intrigue. Arsenal drew at Wolves in midweek, and City — currently five points back in second — have the opportunity to cut that gap to just two points before Arsenal face Tottenham in the North London Derby on Sunday. City are hunting, and the Etihad is where they have historically done their most ruthless work.

Newcastle, to their credit, are no pushover and could theoretically complete a league double over City having already won both earlier Premier League meetings this season. The last side to win both Premier League meetings against an opponent in a season when they had also lost two cup games against the same team was City themselves in 2011-12 against United. History says it can be done, but everything else says it will not be done here. This is one of our less complicated Premier League betting tips.

Correct Score Prediction: Man City 3-0 Newcastle

City's dominant home record, their title-chasing motivation, and Newcastle's wretched Etihad history all point to one outcome. Expect a comfortable home win as Pep Guardiola's side use this fixture to send a message to Arsenal ahead of the North London Derby.

Tottenham vs Arsenal

Victor Gyokers doing his "mask" celebration for Arsenal

If the Man City fixture is about cold, hard statistics, the North London Derby is about something far messier: ote (which in Nigerian lingo used in viewing centres that loosely translates to hating, hate-watching/rooting against your rivals and playing spoiler). This match could define not just the weekend but the entire Premier League season. Arsenal have won six of their last seven Premier League games against Spurs, including each of the last four. They last won five league games in a row against Spurs between January 1987 and January 1989.

Tottenham arrive in dreadful form. They are winless in their last eight Premier League games and are the only side without a Premier League win in all of 2026. It is their longest run without a win from the start of a calendar year since 1994 when they went ten games. In short, this is a Spurs side going through the motions, devoid of conviction, and facing a team that has made this fixture something of a recent habit.

And yet, Arsenal fans will feel no comfort whatsoever. Because this is Arsenal, and the story of their last three seasons is the story of squandered leads and heartbreaking collapses at the business end. They have finished second three consecutive times, twice allowing City to reel them in. They have just two wins in their last seven league games and have drawn their last two, both away. Panic is setting in and a sense of deja vu looms over the Gunners.

Derbies of this magnitude rarely hinge on form, but what makes this one even more unpredictable is the presence of Igor Tudor as Spurs' new manager. That means Arsenal have no real idea what to expect from this unfamiliar Tottenham side, and they could just as easily fall victim to the dreaded new-manager bounce. Spurs have every incentive to derail their eternal rivals’ title charge, with players eager to impress and stake a claim under fresh leadership.

Tottenham have lost their last three home league games against Arsenal. They haven’t lost four straight at home to Arsenal since the early 1950s. The weight of the occasion sits heavily on both clubs, though in starkly different ways: Arsenal are fighting to keep their fading title hopes alive, while Spurs are desperate to stop the slide and salvage something from a turbulent season. A Spurs victory here would send shockwaves through the title race and could deal a potentially fatal blow to Arsenal’s ambitions.

In the spirit of ote, Spurs fans were more than happy to lose to Manchester City two seasons ago, just before the final game of the season, to prevent Arsenal from winning the title. Conspiracy theorists (basically, Arsenal fans) still believe that the late Son Heung-min chance that would have handed the title to Arsenal was intentionally missed. While we will never know the truth, one thing you can be certain of is that Spurs will relish the opportunity to directly destroy the faltering Gunners’ title hopes here.

Correct Score Prediction: Tottenham 2-2 Arsenal

Arsenal are in panic mode and will enter this game with a lot less confidence and with a lot of pressure against a hostile home crowd. Expect Spurs to get something out of this game. Our North London Derby Prediction is a draw.

Lens vs Monaco

Ligue 1 is producing one of its most compelling title races in years, and this weekend's fixture at Stade Bollaert-Delelis is right at the centre of it. Lens, sitting a point above PSG at the top of the table with 52 points, welcome Monaco in a match that could extend their lead or hand the initiative back to their rivals before PSG play their own weekend fixture.

Les Sang et Or have been extraordinary at home this season, winning 10 consecutive Ligue 1 games at Bollaert-Delelis. A single point here takes them to 53, exceeding their entire 2024-25 points total when they finished eighth. The Lens story is one of the most remarkable in European football this season.

Monaco present a different challenge. After a dreadful start to 2026,  losing three of their first four competitive fixtures and conceding 13 goals in the process, they have quietly stabilised with four unbeaten league games.

That said, their away credentials remain deeply unconvincing. They have not won an away game since October’s 5-3 win at Nantes, and they haven’t even scored a goal away since November. They have lost two of their previous three games at Bollaert by three or more goals, including a 4-0 hammering last season. They also lost 4-1 to Lens at home, earlier in the season.

Correct Score Prediction: Lens 3-0 Monaco

Lens's home form is almost unmatched in Europe right now. Monaco's away record and defensive vulnerability make them a soft opponent. That’s why we have this as our Banker Bet of the Day. This should be a comfortable, high-scoring home win that puts further pressure on PSG.

Juventus vs Como

February has been a month to forget for Juventus. After kicking things off with a 4-1 win over Parma on the first of the month, they’ve failed to win in four subsequent games, losing three of them. It’s been a brutal stretch: an embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Atalanta, a last-gasp home draw with Lazio, a contentious Derby d’Italia loss to Inter marred by refereeing controversy, and a humiliating 5-2 defeat to Galatasaray in the Champions League playoffs—a result that leaves them on the brink of elimination unless they can overturn the deficit by four clear goals in the second leg. Across all competitions, they’ve managed just one win in their last six matches, and only four in their last eight Serie A outings. This is a full-blown crisis.

Meanwhile, across the pitch, Como are quietly crafting one of the more heartwarming stories in Italian football under Cesc Fàbregas. They arrive in Turin unbeaten in their last four away games and already have a win over Juventus this season from the reverse fixture. In midweek, they drew 1-1 with AC Milan after taking the lead—though they once again conceded an equaliser, the sixth time that’s happened this season, a worrying pattern they’ll need to fix. Still, their form on the road is no fluke, and there’s genuine quality in this side.

Injuries only deepen Juventus’s concerns. Kalulu is suspended, and Thuram is a doubt, leaving them short on defensive stability at the worst possible time. Juventus are still unbeaten at home this season, and that stat is just about the only thread they’re hanging onto. But here’s the catch: Como have beaten a top-five side just once in six attempts this season, and that solitary win came against Juventus. That’s not lost on anyone.

Juventus desperately need a response. The atmosphere at the Allianz Stadium will be tense, and in football, as in life, desperation can sometimes produce the desired result. But if you’re going by form alone, it’s hard to look past Como.

Correct Score Prediction: Juventus 2-1 Como

Home advantage and sheer desperation give Juventus the edge, but it will not be comfortable. Como are more than capable of troubling this Juventus defence, and expect a nervy, competitive affair before the Old Lady grabs the points she needs.

Elsewhere Across Europe

La Liga:

There’s a new leader in La Liga after Monday night’s action, as Barcelona fell to defeat at Girona, paving the way for Real Madrid to leapfrog them at the summit. Having won their own fixture two days earlier, Los Blancos now sit two points clear, and they have the chance to stretch that advantage to five when they visit Osasuna later this weekend before Barcelona return to action against Levante on Sunday.

Kylian Mbappé returns to the starting lineup after missing last weekend’s win over Real Sociedad through injury, and his form has been relentless: he’s scored in each of his last six league appearances and has already notched 23 goals in the competition this season. Real Madrid are riding a seven-game winning streak in La Liga under Arbeloa, and on paper, they should have more than enough quality to overcome a physical but mid-table Osasuna side.

Betting Prediction: Real Madrid to win @ 1.71 Odds

Bundesliga:

At the summit of the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich hold a commanding six-point lead over Dortmund, bolstered by a remarkable +63 goal difference. They now welcome seventh-placed Eintracht Frankfurt to the Allianz Arena, where they’ll look to continue their domestic dominance.

Elsewhere, the standout fixture sees RB Leipzig host Borussia Dortmund in a high-stakes encounter with plenty of attacking firepower on show. Leipzig are chasing a Champions League spot but arrive in shaky form, having won just once in their last five outings. Dortmund, by contrast, are flying high: still in the title hunt and on a four-game winning streak. This makes them firm favourites heading into this one. Expect goals.

Betting Prediction: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.45 Odds (Leipzig vs Dortmund)

Serie A:

Beyond the turmoil at Juventus, the standout fixture in Serie A this weekend is undoubtedly Atalanta versus Napoli. Napoli currently sit third with 50 points, but their form tells a more troubling story: just two wins in their last 11 outings in all competitions.

Atalanta, by contrast, have been solid at home recently with four straight wins, though they haven’t beaten Napoli in Bergamo since 2021. Recent history favours the visitors with Napoli winning the last two meetings between the sides, but the broader form guide tilts in Atalanta’s direction. It sets up a fascinating clash between the sides.

Betting Prediction: Over 2.5 goals @ 2.10 Odds (Atalanta vs Napoli)

Ligue 1:

This weekend’s clash between Strasbourg and Lyon pits two sides in starkly contrasting form against each other. Lyon are flying, on a remarkable 13-game winning streak across all competitions, sitting third in Ligue 1 with 45 points. Their away form has been just as formidable, with five consecutive victories on the road in all competitions, making them strong favourites even in hostile territory.

Strasbourg, by contrast, are winless in their last three league matches and have managed just one home win in their previous four at the Stade de la Meinau. Currently seventh and outside the European qualification places, they’re desperate for a turnaround under manager Gary O’Neil. Lyon, meanwhile, have been boosted by the return of Endrick from suspension and will be confident of extending their extraordinary run. All signs point to another away victory.

Betting Prediction: Lyon to win @ 2.87 Odds
