Vitor Pereira began his tenure as Wolves boss with consecutive wins, but that honeymoon period is well and truly over. The 3-1 defeat to Chelsea on Monday night stretched their run without a win to four matches (D1, L3).
Wolves are only out of the relegation zone on goal difference and have lost the last seven meetings with Arsenal, failing to score in 4 of the last 5.
Meanwhile, Arsenal’s bid for a first title in over two decades is once again in serious danger of fizzling out despite an impressive 12-game unbeaten Premier League run (W7, D5).
The Gunners threw away a 2-goal lead against Aston Villa last week (2-2) but Mikel Arteta’s men responded emphatically in midweek, cruising to a 3-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.
They might have a depleted frontline, missing the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus but historically, they’re extremely dominant in this fixture, and our bet of the day is for that run to continue.
● Bet Builder: Arsenal to win, Arsenal most corners + Over 1.5 Arsenal goals @2.15
● Kai Havertz to score anytime @2.72
Liverpool needed a heroic cameo from Darwin Nunez to beat Brentford last weekend and move six points clear at the top of the Premier League, with a game in hand.
The Reds are on an outrageous run of 17 league games without defeat (W12, D5), and continued their excellent form with a 2-1 victory over Lille in the Champions League. They have lost just twice in all competitions this season and will be heavy favorites to dispatch this weekend’s opponent, Ipswich, emphatically.
Meanwhile, Ipswich must be cursing their luck at the moment. The Tractor Boys are coming off a 6-0 hammering at the hands of Manchester City and must now travel to Anfield looking for a result. That defensive performance against City is one they can’t afford to repeat, especially on a ground where they have won just two of their prior 30 league visits (D8, L20).
There are no certainties in football, but we believe you can land a big win prediction by backing Liverpool to win comfortably, and Mohamed Salah to be among the goals.
● Bet Builder: Liverpool to win, Mohamed Salah to score anytime + Over 2.5 goals @1.82
● Bet on Liverpool over 2.5 goals @1.45
The biggest game in the Bundesliga this weekend features RB Leipzig hosting defending champions Bayer Leverkusen. Leipzig have had a strange season; from losing six games on the spin in November to now losing just two of their last eight.
Perhaps they have turned a corner, and after exiting the Champions League in midweek, they must now focus on securing a top-four spot in the league. They will not be fazed by Leverkusen, though, as they beat them in the first meeting of the season last August (3-2).
Meanwhile, Leverkusen were on another of their seemingly unstoppable winning streaks until they ran into Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid on Tuesday night, when they squandered both a one-man and one-goal advantage to lose 2-1.
This match represents an opportunity to bounce back and avenge the loss in the reverse fixture. Leverkusen remain the only side unbeaten on the road this Bundesliga season (W5, D3), and we expect them to avoid defeat here.
● Bet Builder: Bayer Leverkusen to win + Over 1.5 goals @2.10
● Bet on both teams to score & over 2.5 goals @1.74
Manchester City dismantled Ipswich 6-0 last weekend, and everyone declared Pep Guardiola’s men were back. However, they were brought back down to earth in midweek with a 4-2 UEFA Champions League defeat to PSG.
That game again highlighted their recent inability to see out matches, as they collapsed after taking a two-goal lead, making it nine losses after being ahead in all competitions this season.
Despite their inconsistent form and porous midfield/defense, City are unbeaten in their last ten fixtures against Chelsea (W8, D2), and the big money signing of Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt is expected to add more firepower to their attack.
Meanwhile, Chelsea returned to winning ways against Wolves after five straight league games without a win (D3, L2). That win gave their top-four chances a much-needed boost, but Enzo Maresca will know that defeat at the Etihad will see them leapfrogged by their hosts.
The Blues have kept just one clean sheet in their last 19 trips to the Etihad, and a great way to get value on your betting stake is to bet on both teams to score.
● Bet Builder: Man City win or Draw + Erling Haaland to score anytime @2.20
● Bet on both teams to score @1.37
Serie A leaders Napoli earned a statement 3-2 win against fellow contenders Atalanta to remain three points clear of defending champions Inter at the top of the table - albeit having played a game more.
Antonio Conte still has to find a way to deal with the departure of star man Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to PSG, but this was the perfect way to silence critics. Napoli will be even more confident of avoiding defeat here, thanks to their impressive record on home soil, where they’ve picked up a league high 24 points (W8, L2).
Juventus roll into town to derail Napoli’s run, but Thiago Motta’s men sit 13 points behind their opponents, and their focus will not surpass a top-four finish.
After impressing in a 2-0 win over AC Milan last week, they were held to a goalless draw by Club Brugge in the Champions League. The Bianconeri have become draw specialists, and that result made it seven draws from their last eight away games across all competitions.
Juventus are not fun to watch, and you can certainly forget about a goal-fest, but they are unbeaten in the league all season and haven’t lost an away game since last April.
A low-scoring draw is our bet prediction for this one.
● Bet on Napoli vs Juventus – Full time draw @3.10
● Bet on under 3.5 goals @1.17
Real Valladolid suffered a devastating 2-1 defeat to fellow La Liga strugglers Espanyol last weekend, and now have the unenviable task of facing defending champions, Real Madrid. This is a fixture that has been very unkind to Valladolid, as they have failed to score in any of the last six meetings (L6).
On the plus side however, they have won their last two home games, so there is some hope for Diego Cocca’s side.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid look to be back in form, and returned to the top of LaLiga standings with a 4-1 win over Las Palmas after Atlético Madrid and Barcelona dropped points.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men then followed up that win with a dismantling of Salzburg 5-1 in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, where Kylian Mbappe scored again to take his tally to 5 goals in his last 4 games.
The smart money is on a comfortable win for the visitors. Not only are they far superior, they have lost just one of their last 25 La Liga away games (W15, D9).
● Bet Builder: Real Madrid to win, Kylian Mbappe to score anytime + Over 2.5 goals @2.20
● Real Madrid over 2.5 goals @1.91
Aston Villa return to Premier League action after their disappointing 1-0 loss to Monaco in Tuesday’s UCL game. That result may cost them automatic progression to the last 16, and they will be aiming to bounce back with a win against the Hammers this weekend.
Unai Emery’s men are unbeaten in the last five meetings with West Ham (W3, D2), most recently coming from behind to win 2-1 in the FA Cup earlier this month. Avoiding defeat again this weekend would also extend their unbeaten run at home to 11 league matches (W6, D4).
Meanwhile, West Ham begin the weekend ten points clear of the relegation zone, and having already been eliminated from the FA Cup, their season is at risk of fizzling out into mediocrity.
New boss Graham Potter therefore has the freedom to integrate his tactics and methods, but must do so with limited options in attack, with star man Jarrod Bowen and striker Niklas Fullkrug unavailable for several weeks.
Villa are exceptional at home, and West Ham have too many injuries to key players for me to trust them in our bet code for today. I think this is an easy Villa win.
● Bet Builder: Aston Villa win + Over 1.5 goals @1.83
● Ollie Watkins to score anytime @2.08
Fulham host Manchester United in the final Premier league game of the weekend at Craven Cottage and the Cottagers will certainly fancy their chances against a side that simply isn’t good enough.
The home side beat Leicester 2-0 last time out to move up to 10th in the Premier League table, and three points here could really kickstart their European push.
United, on the other hand, have endured another dramatic week. Ruben Amorim described his side as “maybe the worst team in Manchester United history” following United’s 3-1 defeat to Brighton on Sunday and I have to agree with him, such is the ineptitude present in this Manchester United team on any given matchday.
While United beat Rangers 2-1 in dramatic fashion in the Europa League on Thursday night, that was only their third win in 9 matches.
Fulham’s attackers will be licking their lips at the prospect of facing the Red Devils shaky backline (1 clean sheet in last 15 games) and we really think the hosts could take all three points this weekend.
● Bet Builder: Fulham to win + Over 1.5 goals @2.63
● Bet on both teams to score @1.64
