The Premier League season wraps up on Sunday, and with the title still undecided, it’s set to be a nail-biting day. We’ll preview what to expect across the league and look at Bayer Leverkusen’s chances of finishing their Bundesliga season unbeaten as they prepare to host Augsburg.

**Manchester City vs. West Ham**

Manchester City head into the last day of the season knowing that a win will secure an unprecedented 4th consecutive league title. This would be Pep Guardiola's 6th title overall, with only Sir Alex Ferguson having more top-flight titles (13). Many believe City already cleared their toughest hurdle by beating Spurs away on Tuesday. They had lost four straight games at that ground over the last four years, but an Erling Haaland brace helped seal a memorable 2-0.  

History also favours Manchester City ahead of Sunday’s season finale. In Premier League history, the title has been decided on the last day 9 times, and on each occasion, the team that started the day at the top of the table has won the title. Pep Guardiola will hope to make that 10 out of 10.
 
West Ham's visits to the Etihad have rarely ended well. In 17 away trips, they've lost 15 times, drawn once (January 2008), and won only once (September 2015). West Ham's poor record against Man City extends beyond the Etihad. Since that September win in 2015, City has gone unbeaten in 16 league games against the Hammers, winning 13 and drawing 3. Even without Ederson (out with a fractured eye socket) and possibly Kevin de Bruyne, we expect Man City to win the game.

**Arsenal vs. Everton**

The Gunners have a simple task on Sunday; win against Everton and hope for a Manchester City slip up. Wait, is that one task or two? I can’t say for sure. What is clear is that the league title is no longer in their control. Son Heung-min almost did them a huge favour when he had a late chance in Spurs' game against Man City on Tuesday. If he'd scored, Arsenal would be entering the final matchday on top of the standings. But, relying on help from their fierce rivals was always a long shot. 

Arsenal, however, can still cling to hope. The last team to win the top-flight title in England after starting the final matchday in second place was… Arsenal in the 1988/89 season, before the league was rebranded as the Premier League. They needed to beat Liverpool by two goals at Anfield and did just that in dramatic fashion, a moment only rivalled by Sergio Aguero’s famous late winner. 

As for the game itself, beating Everton is tougher than it seems. The Toffees have won 5 of their last 7 league games, losing just once and drawing once. Impressively, they've kept clean sheets in all 5 wins. Without their 6-point deduction earlier in the season, they'd be sitting 13th with a shot at a top-half finish for the first time in four seasons. However, the Gunners have been stellar at home, boasting an equally excellent defensive record. They've won their last 5 league games, keeping 4 clean sheets, and have lost only one of their last 27 Premier League home games against Everton. With nerves expected to be high on both sides, we foresee a low-scoring match, with Arsenal pulling off the win and hoping for their biggest miracle in 35 years.

**Bayer Leverkusen vs. Augsburg**

With just 90 minutes standing between them and becoming the first team to win the Bundesliga without losing a game, Bayer Leverkusen welcome 10th-place Augsburg to the Bay Arena. Riding a 50-game unbeaten streak, Leverkusen aims to extend that to 53, with the UEFA Europa League final against Atalanta on May 22 and the DFB Cup final against Bundesliga 2’s Kaiserslautern three days later. While both finals are crucial, maintaining an unbeaten record in the league is also highly valued. Therefore, it’s expected that Xabi Alonso won’t heavily rotate his squad. Florian Wirtz is fully fit and will see some minutes, while wing-back Álex Grimaldo could also start. Strikers Victor Boniface and Patrik Schick both started together for the first time on Matchday 33 against Bochum and it was an experiment that worked.  They both scored and Leverkusen were convincing 5-0 winners. Ahead of this game, though, only one of them is expected to start - probably Schick, with Boniface rested for the final against Atalanta. 

Augsburg have a poor record against Leverkusen, winning just two of their 25 Bundesliga matches, with 16 losses and 7 draws. However, both wins came last season, so the newly crowned champions should be cautious. To be honest, it’s understandable if you feel they pose little threat. Augsburg is on a four-game losing streak in the league—the longest in their club history. One bright spot for them, though, is Ermedin Demirović, who is having a career-best season with 15 goals and nine assists. If Augsburg scores, it will probably come from him.

**Barcelona vs. Rayo Vallecano**

Fresh off consecutive 2-0 wins over Real Sociedad and Almeria, Barcelona is surprisingly dealing with negative news. Head Coach and club icon Xavi Hernandez is reportedly on the verge of being sacked following comments he made to the press earlier in the week. Xavi had announced in January that he would step down at the end of the season, but was persuaded to stay by club president Joan Laporte. However, before Thursday’s win at Almeria, Xavi suggested it would be difficult to compete financially with rivals Real Madrid and other top European teams. This blunt truth has not gone down well with the club’s board and president. 

To the game, Barcelona might struggle against Rayo Vallecano, a team that has had the upper hand in recent years. The Catalans have won none of their last five LaLiga matches against Sunday’s visitors, drawing two and losing three. This is a stark contrast to their previous dominance in this fixture, where they recorded 13 straight victories. However, Barcelona will look to capitalise on Rayo’s poor form, as Rayo has won none of their last 8 away league games and has gone scoreless in their last 5. Despite this poor form, we think the visitors will leave with something.

**Brighton & Hove vs. Manchester United**

Brighton’s 1-0 win over Aston Villa earlier this month was their only win in their last 9 league games. The Seagulls have struggled for form this season, and even their goal scoring, which was responsible for their impressive 6th place finish last season, has regressed. Last season, they averaged 1.89 goals per game, but this season, that figure has dropped to 1.48. In those 9 recent league games where they only won once, they failed to score in four. However, with Manchester United coming to town, they’ll be eager to end the season on a high note. 

The Seagulls have been a thorn in Erik ten Hag’s flesh ever since he set foot in England. From the 2-1 loss on his managerial debut to the 3-1 defeat earlier in September, Brighton always seems to have his number. Manchester United has lost their last four league games to Brighton, and their 67% loss rate at the Falmer Stadium is their highest at any ground in the competition’s history. This gives the host the psychological edge ahead of Sunday’s showdown. 

Last time out, the Red Devils won against Newcastle, but not without their fair share of scares. They conceded 21 shots but still grabbed all three points—the 7th time this season they’ve won despite facing 20+ shots. The return of skipper Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo’s fine form has bolstered their attack, even with key defenders out injured. One of our betting tips today is for the young Ivorian to get on the scoresheet once again in a game that should feature lots of goals.

**Chelsea vs. Bournemouth**

Chelsea’s impressive late-season comeback continued with a 2-1 win at Brighton on Wednesday. This marked their fourth consecutive victory, a feat they hadn’t achieved since October 2022. Their biggest turnaround has been at Stamford Bridge, where they’ve won nine of their last 11 games. This is a stark contrast to their earlier form, having won just one of their previous 14 home games. Cole Palmer has been a standout in Chelsea’s resurgence. His 34th-minute goal at Brighton was his 22nd league goal this season, making him the third highest-scoring Chelsea player in a single EPL campaign, behind Didier Drogba (29) and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (23 on two occasions). It goes without saying, our bet of the day is for him to once again get on the scoresheet and lead Chelsea to victory. Another player to keep an eye on is Dominic Solanke. The Englishman holds the record for the most Premier League goals in a single campaign for Bournemouth with 19. **Liverpool vs. Wolves**

Liverpool is saying goodbye to their most successful manager in the past 30 years, Jurgen Klopp. Before the German arrived, the Reds hadn’t won a league title in three decades, although they had enjoyed some Cup success. In his 9 years at Anfield, Klopp turned them into one of Europe’s top teams, racking up an impressive 8 titles. His haul includes a Premier League title, two FA Cups, a Champions League title, and a FIFA Club World Cup. 

Klopp’s farewell tour hasn’t gone smoothly, though. They’ve only won four of their last 10 games across all competitions, causing them to exit the Europa League and fall out of the league title race. They’ve failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 10 league games, conceding at least twice in each of their last four matches. The last time they let in multiple goals in five consecutive league games was back in April 1999, something they definitely want to avoid this time around. 

Wolves have also been struggling. After securing their safety, they’ve been dropping points for fun. A dramatic FA Cup loss to rivals Coventry City kicked off a stretch of just one win in nine league games, with six losses in that span. They haven’t fared well against Liverpool either, with just one win and 13 losses in their last 14 meetings. While we think Wolves might score against Liverpool’s shaky defense, the Reds are likely to give Klopp a winning send-off.

**Sheffield United vs. Tottenham**

Any hope of a Champions League spot for Spurs was dashed after Tuesday’s loss to Manchester City. It was a bittersweet game for the fans. Many Spurs supporters were actually rooting for a loss because it meant their archrivals, Arsenal, would drop to second place in the standings. This didn’t sit well with Head Coach Ange Postecoglou, who was clearly annoyed by the idea of fans wanting their team to lose. Now, their goal is straightforward: avoid a loss and secure a Europa League spot. If they lose this weekend, they risk being overtaken by Chelsea and dropping to a Europa Conference League spot. 

Luckily for Spurs, Sheffield United likely won’t pose much of a challenge. Officially relegated about a month ago, the Blades have lost their last 6 games and have only won once in their last 18 across all competitions. They’ve been letting in goals at a historic rate, with 101 goals conceded—the most in the Premier League era. We not only expect them to lose on Sunday, but we also expect it to be a big loss.
