The beautiful game has many moving components; goalkeepers and defenders who work to keep opponents at bay; midfielders who work to control play, support the defence and fashion out chances for the attackers; and forwards who are there to put chances away.

**1. Kylian Mbappe (France)**

France captain Kylian Mbappe will be a huge favorite to win the Golden Boot at EURO 2024, and for good reason; the 25-year-old PSG forward has been terrorizing defences since he was a wide-eyed 17-year-old at Monaco.   

Whether playing off the left wing or as a central striker, Mbappe can hurt teams in a variety of ways, and the most remarkable thing about him is his consistency. He has notched up an impressive 255 goals in 304 appearances for PSG, as well as an impressive 46 goals in 77 games for France.   

Mbappe is no stranger to Golden Boots, having won five straight in Ligue 1. He was also the top scorer at the 2022 World Cup. He will be eager to add another one to his cabinet, and more importantly, lead France to the ultimate prize. This could also be a pivotal summer for the PSG man, with a potential move to Real Madrid on the horizon, and he will want to arrive in Spain as a European champion.

**2. Harry Kane (England)**

England and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane is next on our list. The 30-year-old is arguably the best striker in the world right now, and his goal-scoring record makes him a strong contender for the Golden Boot this summer.   

Simply put, if England have designs on winning the trophy in Germany, Kane must lead the charge.  He is the country’s record scorer (62 goals in 89 games) and with 44 goals & 12 assists in 45 appearances for Bayern Munich last season, he’ll lead the attacking thrust for the Three Lions.

**3. Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal)**

Cristiano Ronaldo remains a force to be reckoned with, even at 39.  His impressive track record at the Euros is a testament to his enduring talent. At the previous tournament, he bagged an impressive five goals to win the Golden Boot. With a world-class Portugal side behind him, he’s more than capable of repeating that feat despite the advances of time.  

Despite being at the tail end of his career, Ronaldo has showed no signs of slowing down. In fact, he’s still dominating the goalscoring charts in the Saudi Pro League, with an impressive 44 goals & 13 assists in 44 appearances for Al-Nassr. And let’s not forget his continued excellence on the international stage - he was the second top scorer in European qualifying, netting 10 times to help Portugal secure their spot in the tournament.  

As a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Ronaldo’s legacy is already cemented, but it would be fitting for him to bow out of international football with a bang.

**4. Romelu Lukaku (Belgium)**

Romelu Lukaku has gained a reputation as a figure of fun on the club scene for a variety of reasons. However, when he’s playing for Belgium, he turns into a goal-scoring machine.  

He is the country’s all-time top scorer (83 goals in 114 games) and topped the charts in Euros qualifying with an impressive 14 goals in 8 games.

Now 31, the ex-Manchester United man heads into this summer’s tournament with a wealth of experience and should be among the top scorers at the competition should Belgium reach the latter stages.  

With a relatively comfortable Group featuring Slovakia, Ukraine, and Romania, our football prediction is for the Red Devils to progress from Group E comfortably. For all their talent, Belgium have failed to make a statement at an international tournament. This is Lukaku’s chance to lead his nation to their first-ever tournament win.

**5. Alvaro Morata (Spain)**

Alvaro Morata has been in fine goal-scoring form for Atletico Madrid this season with 21 goals in 48 games. The former Chelsea forward also bagged four goals in qualifying for Spain, including a hat-trick against Georgia.  

As Spain head to the tournament in Germany, Morata will be bursting with confidence in front of goal. And with good reason - he’s been here before, making 10 appearances at the Euros and scoring six times.   

There will be even more pressure on his shoulders after head coach Luis de la Fuente named him captain, but at 31, he has enough experience to lead Spain further than their semi-final finish in Euro 2020.  

Spain’s lack of alternative goalscoring options means Morata will be counted on to make a big impact, and who knows? Maybe this will be the tournament where he leads La Roja to glory and finally fulfils his potential.
