It's the final league weekend for major European leagues and domestic cups ahead of next weekend’s Champions League final. A resurgent Lyon faces PSG in the Coupe de France as Kylian Mbappé bids farewell to France. In Scotland, it’s the Old Firm Derby (again), this time with the Scottish Cup on the line. In this piece, we’ll break down a few key games, making them way easier to comprehend than the Olufunmi Remix.

**Lyon vs. PSG**

Lyon has been absolutely stunning in the second half of this season. Back in December, they were at the bottom of the table, with just one league win and facing relegation. But after investing heavily in the January transfer window and bringing in Pierre Sage - their third manager of the season - their luck changed. No Ligue 1 team has earned more points than their 40 in 2024, and a four-game winning streak pushed them up to sixth place, securing a Europa League spot. Now, with the Coupe de France up for grabs, they have a shot at ending the season with some silverware and giving Kylian Mbappé a farewell loss.

PSG, however, seems unfazed by Lyon's turnaround this season. In their first meeting in early September, they won 4-1 with Kylian Mbappé scoring twice in the first half. When they met again last month, PSG once again won 4-1, this time it was Gonçalo Ramos who scored a brace. Despite everything, Mbappé remains the key player to watch. He leads the competition in goals scored (8) and, despite some issues with the club's management, he’ll want to leave the club on a high note. One of our betting tips today is for him to score a goal as PSG wins the Coupe de France.

**Celtic vs. Rangers**

In their third showdown in under two months and their fifth of the season, these Scottish giants will face off in the Scottish Cup final. It's surprising that though they've been the top teams in Scotland for a while, this is their first meeting in the final in 22 seasons. Winning on Saturday would mean a double for either team this season, adding extra excitement to the clash. Brendan Rodgers has just led Celtic to the Scottish League title and is eager to boost Celtic’s record in this competition to 42 wins—an 8th in 10 years. For Rangers, it's a chance to secure a cup double after their 1-0 victory over Aberdeen in the League Cup final last December. 

Celtic are the favourites for this game. They have lost none of the previous four Old Firm derbies this season, winning three and drawing one—a 3-3 draw in April. In their last meeting earlier this month, Rangers’ midfielder John Lundstram had a disastrous performance, scoring an own goal in the 38th minute and getting a red card just before halftime. He’ll be itching for a chance at redemption. 

Keep an eye on Matt O'Riley in this game. The Danish midfielder has had an incredible season, catching the attention of several English teams, including West Ham. O'Riley scored 19 goals and provided 18 assists, marking a career high for him. Our bet of the day is for him to be the hero for Celtic on Saturday.

**Real Madrid vs. Real Betis**

Los Blancos are already La Liga winners. So, over the past few matchdays, we’ve seen them experiment a bit with their starting lineups as they try to keep the squad fresh for the Champions League final. These experimental lineups have led to some exciting games, especially for neutral fans. Since officially winning the league, they’ve beaten Granada 4-0, crushed Alaves 5-0, and had a thrilling 4-4 draw with Villarreal last weekend, where Alexander Sørloth scored all four goals for the Yellow Submarines. 

One Real Madrid player who has really benefited from this run of games is teenage sensation Arda Güler. After missing a big part of the season due to injury, the Turkish wonderkid is now hitting his stride, scoring four goals in these three games, and taking his season tally to 6 league goals in just 10 games. Ahead of this season finale, he’ll be eager to finish on a high note. 

Real Betis have been a thorn in Real Madrid’s side lately. Despite the injury to star player Isco, they head to the Santiago Bernabeu confident they can get a result. Real Madrid have only won once in their last six LaLiga home games against Betis, with three draws and two losses. Before this, they had won seven in a row at home, so this recent poor run is quite unusual. However, Madrid are heavy favourites going into this match, having not lost any of their last 31 league games—a new club record.

**Hellas Verona vs. Inter**

With Inter crowned champions well over a month and Hellas Verona securing safety earlier in the week, this game could have about as much intensity and passion as a bunch of Giant pandas on a warm afternoon. Still, we're leaning towards an Inter win, and here’s why. Inter have kept 21 clean sheets this season and could be extra motivated to tie the Serie A record (22). Offensively, the Nerazzurri have scored 100 or more goals for the fifth straight season and won’t hold back if they get the opportunity to strike. 

Inter have won their last seven matches against Hellas Verona, and it’s expected that the newly crowned champions will extend that streak this weekend. In their Serie A games against Verona during the 3-point era, Inter averages 2.6 goals, so we might see a few goals in this match. Since keeping a clean sheet against Inter in February 1992, Verona have gone 25 top-flight meetings without shutting them out.  

Keep an eye on Inter skipper Lautaro Martinez. The Argentine striker has six career goals against Verona, including one in each of his last four meetings, and he’ll be eager to add to that tally.

**Napoli vs. Leece**

Sunday evening will see Napoli wrap up what has been the worst title defense in Serie A history. To put things into perspective, they are currently 41 points behind the new champions, Inter. In 1949, Serie A champions Torino lost their entire squad to a plane crash and still finished just 21 points behind first place Juventus the next season. Since parting ways with Luciano Spalletti in June, three managers have taken the helm in Naples, highlighting the dysfunction they’ve faced all season. 

These two teams are in terrible form. Napoli are winless in six games, failing to keep a clean sheet in that stretch and conceding two goals in four of them. Lecce are slightly better with two wins and two clean sheets in their last six games. Given Napoli’s poor home form, one of our betting tips for this game is for Lecce to avoid defeat. Napoli’s 2-1 win over Juventus in early March is their only home victory since February, showing their vulnerability at home. Additionally, Verona have avoided defeat in four of their last seven visits to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, including two of their most recent trips.

**Juventus vs. Monza**

Last week’s Coppa Italia win over Atalanta was Juventus’ only victory in their last eight games across all competitions. Head Coach Massimiliano Allegri was let go shortly after leading them to cup glory, with his replacement rumoured to be Thiago Motta. Coincidentally, Motta was Monday’s opponent as Juventus registered their 7th consecutive league draw. Motta’s Bologna had a 3-0 lead over the Old Lady but they stormed back to rescue a point with late goals from Arkadiusz Milik and Kenan Yildiz proving to be important. With just 22 points from 18 matches in the second half of the season—a poor return of 1.22 points per game—Juventus have dropped to 4th place, and their fans are eager for the season to end. 

Visiting Turin is Monza, one of two teams winless in their last eight games (the other being Salernitana). Juventus can take some solace in that. Monza did, however, achieve an impressive double over Juventus last season, though they lost their most recent encounter in December, where both sides scored in stoppage time, resulting in a 2-1 win for Juve. It’s tough to say, but we can see Juventus setting a new club record of 8 consecutive league draws.

**Sevilla vs. Barcelona**

With Sevilla set to host Barcelona on the final day of the season, the spotlight isn't on the game but on the coaching situation at Barcelona. Club icon Xavi has been sacked following his public criticism of the club last week. Just weeks after deciding to stay, this abrupt decision to part ways with such a legendary figure right before the season ends highlights how badly things must have deteriorated. Taking over next month is former Bayern Munich and Germany manager, Hansi Flick. Drama indeed. 

Barcelona were the favourites going into this game, but the recent drama could distract their players, giving Sevilla an opportunity to capitalise. Barcelona had won their last four games against Sevilla without conceding a goal, justifying their “favourites” tag. They had also kept 9 clean sheets in their last 12 league games, the same number they managed in their previous 30 games. Ordinarily, all signs point to a Barcelona win. However, the controversy of the past week might affect the players' focus, potentially impacting their performance.
