**Manchester City vs Liverpool** 

We’ve certainly missed watching the Premier League and what better way to be reunited with the world’s most thrilling competition than to watch Manchester City vs Liverpool clash at the Etihad on Saturday in a truly blockbuster affair. 

Pep Guardiola’s table toppers are just a point ahead of 2nd-place Liverpool and Liverpool will have taken notes from City’s last game, which was a thrilling 4-4 draw away at Chelsea. While the game was exciting to fans of the beautiful game, it showed City’s vulnerability in defence, especially on the left side, with Josko Gvardiol yet to fully settle in.  

Nevertheless, the hosts will be favourites at home, on a ground where they haven’t dropped a single point in *checks notes*, 23 games. That’s right, Guardiola’s side have won 23 straight games at the Etihad. The word “fortress” readily springs to mind here. 

Liverpool on the other hand, are flying under the radar somewhat. They’ve been good, not spectacular. And despite their midfield struggle, they fully merit their current league standing. The Reds have lost just once in their opening 12 games and are probably the one team Guardiola will be truly worried about this season. The Reds have one problem, though: Jurgen Klopp hasn’t led his side to victory at the Etihad since 2018 and the last time they visited, it ended 4-1 to City.  

One thing you can count on though, is goals. “Both teams to score” has cashed out in 8 of the last 9 meetings between these two sides and our bet of the day is at the very least, a “Goal-Goal” market here. 

After a record-breaking 36 Premier League goals last season, City goal-machine Erling Haaland is showing no signs of slowing down, with 13 goals across his opening 12 top-flight appearances this term. He is also averaging 2.25 shots on target per 90 in the Premier League season and is City’s best bet to find the net against Liverpool.

**PSG vs Monaco** 

Paris Saint-Germain finally reached the summit of Ligue 1 just before the international break. Their 3-0 victory over Reims extended their impressive streak to five straight league wins. More impressive, however, is the fact that all of those wins saw them score exactly three goals.  

Facing Monaco is never an easy task, and this fixture presents a great opportunity to extend their lead at the top to six points, a healthy buffer as they approach the halfway point of the season. 

Adi Hutter’s Monaco side make the long trip to Paris, looking to bounce back from their tepid performance in the 0-0 draw against newly-promoted Le Havre.  

 With only one win in three top-flight matches (D1, L1), the Monégasques need points to maintain their four-point gap over fourth-placed Lille in their quest to earn qualification to the UEFA Champions League next season. 

Monaco aren’t in great form, especially on the road, with just one win in their last 5 away games (D3, L1), while failing to score in the last two. These recent offensive struggles on their travels are particularly concerning, given that they have recorded just one clean sheet in 11 away Ligue 1 matches. 

It is hard to see Monaco coming away from Paris with a positive result, our bet prediction is a PSG home victory.

**Newcastle vs Chelsea** 

Before the international break, Newcastle United and Chelsea seemed to be on completely different paths, the Magpies looked like they were on the cusp of breaking the ceiling to join the elite teams, while Mauricio Pochettino’s men struggled. However, the Blues have sprung to life with just one defeat across their last 8 games, including the morale boosting 4-1 win against Tottenham.  Even Nicolas Jackson who couldn’t hit a barn door in the opening weeks is now regularly on the scoresheet and their defence continues to build chemistry together. A spirited performance against Manchester City and an entertaining 4-4 draw at Stamford further underscore their newfound resilience. 

Newcastle on the other hand, have been hard to decipher this season. The performances have mostly been fine but after suffering a host of injuries, things are starting to look shaky at St James’ park. Noteworthy victories against Arsenal, Manchester City in the League Cup, and PSG in the Champions League highlight their potential. However, the disappointing loss to Bournemouth has led to some discontent among the Geordie faithful.  

That being said, Newcastle are a hard nut to crack at home, losing just twice in their last 9 home league games. They also defeated Chelsea at home last season, and Arsenal have tasted defeat there as well. Despite Chelsea’s good form, back Newcastle to avoid defeat at home

**Tottenham vs Aston Villa** 

Tottenham return to Premier League action with a home game against high-flying Aston Villa, a side with similar designs on a top-four finish.  

Despite Spurs’ promising start, consecutive defeats, and notable absences due to injuries and suspensions, mean that the early optimism has been dampened. Aware that a third successive loss, especially against an ascending Villa, may have implications in the season’s later stages, this has to be considered a must-win for Ange Postecoglou’s team.  

Aston Villa are in fine form, winning 7 of their last 9 games including an impressive 3-1 win over Fulham last time out. A win will take them into the top 4 and they will feel confident, not just due to Spurs’ ailing squad, but the fact that they actually won both games against Tottenham last season. **Cadiz vs Real Madrid** 

Real Madrid are having a good season, even by their lofty standards. Carlo Ancelotti’s men have already progressed to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League and are favourites to win the La Liga title, which is no disrespect to Girona who are currently first and despite injuries to several key players.  

While Los Blancos have not been imperious, the signs are certainly very positive. Los Blancos sit second in La Liga with 32 points, 2 behind surprise leaders Girona and 2 points ahead of bitter rivals Barcelona.  

Real Madrid were rampant as they cruised to a 5-1 win over Valencia at the Santiago Bernabeu before the international break and even without the injured duo of Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr, they should have more than enough to put away Cadiz.  

The hosts are 16th in La Liga with just 1 win in their last 7 games and even worse, have only beaten Real Madrid once in the last 15 attempts. Honestly, it’s hard to see anything other than a Madrid victory here.

**Brentford vs Arsenal** 

Arsenal face a London derby against a tricky Brentford side that will be hard to beat, especially at home. 

The Gunners are in a better mood after back-to-back wins in all competitions. They sit third, just behind Liverpool on goal difference, and with the Reds facing City, there is a real chance they could be table toppers by Monday. 

If the Gunners seriously are to mount a successful title challenge, these are the games they cannot afford to drop points in. With the talent at Arteta’s disposal, they should have enough to get the win. 

Arsenal tend to keep it tight away from home at both ends. They have played five games away from the Emirates, scored eight and conceded three. Arteta will look to make this a controlled, low-scoring affair again. 

Brentford have been quite unpredictable this season, making it hard to tell which version of Thomas Frank’s men will turn up on any matchday. After 7 games without a win, they bounced back to win three on the spin before losing 3-0 to Liverpool in the last match before the international break.  

They will need to be at their best to take anything from this one, but we believe the Bees can score in front of their home fans in a narrow defeat.

**Atalanta vs Napoli**

As far as Serie A games go, this is going to be a cracker.  

Neither side is having the best season, but the goal ultimately remains a top four finish, and as things stand, Napoli are 4th, just a single point above Atalanta. 

Gian Piero Gasperini’s men have lost their last 3 games against Napoli and will be looking to make sure that horrible streak comes to an end, and truth be told, this could be the best time to face Napoli.  

After a tough start to life in Naples, Rudi Garcia was fired after just 16 competitive matches (W8, D4, L4), following a disastrous 1-0 loss at home to Empoli that left them ten points adrift of top spot during the international break. 

 Despite not being in favour of recalling past employees, the club’s president Aurelio De Laurentis appointed Walter Mazzarri, who led Napoli to their first trophy with the 2012 Coppa Italia and nurtured the likes of Edinson Cavani, Marek Hamsik and Ezequiel Lavezzi, for a second stint. 

Atalanta should feel confident of getting a positive result here after registering six clean sheets from their seven competitive outings at the Gewiss Stadium so far this season (W5, D1, L1), conceding only in their 2-1 defeat to Inter in their last home fixture.  

Napoli are not in great shape at the moment, and even with a potential new manager boost, we are backing Atalanta to secure all three points at home.
