Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic

Jon Jones will put his heavyweight title on the line against Stipe Miocic at Madison Square Garden in what many believe is the most anticipated fight of the year. Jones claimed the heavyweight title with a win over Ciryl Gane at UFC 285, becoming one of the few athletes to win UFC gold in two weight classes.

This fight was originally slated for November last year, but Jones suffered an injury that sidelined him for several months. Both fighters have actually faced a long period of inactivity. Miocic's last fight was March 27, 2021, where he was battered by Francis Ngannou, and this is a big way to return to action. At 42 years old, Miocic is not ancient by heavyweight standards, but he's fighting a 37-year-old, more athletic opponent.

Jones is not the world-beater he once was, but his mind should still be as sharp as ever, meaning Miocic's path to winning is landing a big punch. Jones ran through the Light Heavyweight era before his injury and used his fight IQ to get around some of the deadliest strikers in the UFC. His speed may not be what it used to be, but his ability to stay away from getting hit is one of his biggest assets.

Miocic presents a formidable challenge, though, and his resume is nothing to scoff at. The 42-year-old former champ could certainly be the most dangerous opponent Jones has faced in quite some time.

Jon Jones is a pure striker, averaging 4.29 significant strikes per minute, with an accuracy of 57 percent. He is also unbeaten since 2009 (19 consecutive wins), and while Miocic is an experienced fighter, he hasn't entered the Octagon in almost 3 years. It's hard to look past Jones for this one.

 Jon Jones to win @1.16

Charles Oliveira vs Michael Chandler

Oliveira enters this fight with an MMA record of 34-10. He is an excellent striker, averaging 3.39 significant strikes per minute, and has a striking accuracy of 53 percent.

This fight is a rematch from May 2021 where Oliveira beat Chandler by KO/TKO to claim the UFC Lightweight title. Not much has changed since then and that loss for Chandler was the first of three defeats in his last four fights.

Oliveira is in better form, with 6 wins in his last 8 fights. He is also the superior striker and our bet prediction is a win for the Brazilian.

●  Oliveira to win @1.37

Bo Nickal vs Paul Craig

Bo Nickal has taken to the UFC like a duck to water. At the moment, he is 6-0, with three of those wins coming in the UFC. The 28-year-old has elite grappling skills, and his background as a national wrestling champion has given him an excellent base for what is shaping up to be an impressive career.

Paul Craig, 36, is more of a veteran, but his UFC career is likely coming to an end. He lost four of his previous five fights, all of them in the light heavyweight division. That's why he has now dropped to the UFC middleweight division.

Nickal is a better striker and overall fighter, which is why the smart bet prediction is on the American.

●  Bo Nickal to win @1.08

Vivianne Araujo vs Karine Silva

Viviane Araujo enters UFC 309 with an overall record of 12-6-0, competing in the Flyweight division. Her last fight was a loss against Natalie Silva in February, her third loss in four fights.

This is an all-Brazilian affair, and her opponent, Karine Silva, has a record of 18-4-0, including a 5-fight winning streak. Silva is one of the most talented wrestlers in the sport, as evidenced by her recent submission wins (4 out of 5).

At 38 years old, it's hard to see Araujo keeping up with the red-hot Karine Silva.

●  Karine Silva to win @1.35

Chris Weidman vs Eryk Anders

Chris Weidman bounced back from consecutive defeats with a controversial win against Bruno Silva, but at 40 -years old, you have to think this could be his last appearance in the Octagon. That win in March was his first since 2020, and he looked far from his best as he struggled to land significant strikes.

Eryk Anders may not be the best fighter around, but he is younger and a better grappler. He is also in better form.

It's a close call, but you can get the best odds by backing Anders to take this one.

●  Eryk Anders to win @1.81

Jim Miller vs Damon Jackson

Jim Miller is coming off a terrible loss to Bobby Green, in which he took a ton of damage, and at 41, another bad defeat could signal the end of his UFC run. He is understandably looking to extend his record as the fighter with the most wins in competition history, but that performance left little room for positivity.

His opponent, the younger Damon Jackson, is moving up to Lightweight for the first time, and is quicker and more durable than Miller. Our bet prediction is for him to claim victory here.

●  Damon Jackson to win @1.56

Jonathan Martiez vs Marcus McGhee

Marcus McGhee got a late start to his UFC career, making his debut at 33. He has looked great in his short UFC tenure, riding a 3-0 record in the Octagon with three stoppages, each one earning him a Performance of the Night bonus. However, his quality of competition has been quite low. His last three opponents have just three wins between them in the UFC.

This is a huge step up against Jonathan Martinez, who has a 10-4 record and just one loss in his last seven fights. Martinez is also known for his impressive striking skills, which makes it tempting to favor him here. However, McGhee is on a scorching run, and we are backing him for our bet of the day.

●  Marcus McGhee to win @1.71
