We are proud to announce our partnership with The Destiny Trust, a non-profit organization committed to educating, caring for, and empowering children. Together, we are embarking on an ambitious mission to train 500 child programmers through a series of bootcamps held across Nigeria.

Africa faces a significant digital skills gap, with an estimated 230 million jobs requiring digital skills by 2030, yet only 1% of African children currently have access to digital education (UNESCO). Initiatives like this partnership are essential in addressing the gap and ensuring disadvantaged children are included in the emerging digital economy.

The Destiny Trust, through its flagship programme Kids Innovation Africa, has been at the forefront of bridging the digital divide and expanding learning opportunities for disadvantaged children. With over 1,059 children trained so far, the organisation aims to continue providing in-school training, bootcamps, after-school classes, and personalized learning on its edtech platform.

Gossy Ukanwoke, Managing Director of KingMakers, remarked, "At KingMakers, we believe in unlocking the potential of every child, no matter their background.

By giving them access to the right skills today, we are not only preparing them for the future but also helping them shape it.

This initiative reflects our vision of driving inclusive growth across Africa, and we are proud to be a part of it."

"Our corporate social responsibility commitment as a company is to continue making opportunities accessible to the less privileged and positively impacting lives." He further added,

Onyinye Okwundu, Lead for Tech and Skills Development at The Destiny Trust's Kids Innovation Africa, emphasized the importance of equipping children with future-proof skills, stating, "Together with our partners, we believe that the best way to empower less-privileged children is to equip them with the skills needed to thrive today and in the future of work."

Recently, the grand finale of the Kids Innovation Challenge 2024 took place in Lagos, bringing together young innovators from across the country to identify and celebrate the genius of children from less privileged backgrounds.

This event provided a platform for these children to showcase their creativity and potential in technology, reinforcing the belief that talent knows no boundaries.
